Can anyone give me any information on how to play the piccolo trumpet?

I just purchased a tristar piccolo trumpet and I need a little more info on how to play it. What is the 4th valve used for? Are the fingerings the same as what they would be on a regular trumpet? Anyone who knows something more about the piccolo trumpet please help me out. I also played trumpet for 10 years during school.
