Creating a comic/story, does this sound like something you'd read?

Well, i haven't exactly started yet but i know how and what the main charcter will be. I want to do something that's influenced by mortal kombat and dbz. The only thing is i'm gonna have a more darker/serious feel to it and probably more violent. The influences from mortal kombat: original/rememberable characters with specific moves. From dbz: interesting plots, training to get to next level of skill/strength/speed, interesting facts like, for example: kami and piccolo used to be one entity. And also i want different fictional species/races and categories of the type of beings in the story. So i have some ideas to get it started, but before i go on, i'm just curious to know if this is something you'd read or watch?
