How hard to play is the Piccolo?

I have played the french horn in band for about a year now but I have always wanted to play flute or piccolo. Don't get me wrong I can play the flute but I really want to what I want to play is the piccolo but I want to know if its idk possible to switch from and instrument like the french horn to a piccolo?
