Switching from Flute to What instrument?

Hi. I've been playing flute (and piccolo) for almost 4 years now.I really want to start learning a nother instrument to play at school. I want to pick an instrument that is a little bit more unique because its hard to get into some of the bands at my school with like 50 flute trying out. I was thinking about switching to bassoon or maybe even oboe. Is it hard to learn these instruments from the flute? What instruments would you recommend? thanks.
