What is Dragon Ball Z Kai about? Is it a continuation after Dragon Ball GT?

In the last episode of Dragonball GT Goku leaves with the dragon of the dragon balls and says goodbye to Krillin and Roshi and Piccolo.....then the scene goes to Pan when she was old and she is now Goku Jr's grandmother. Goku jr. and Vegeta jr. are about to fight and then the episode ends....So are they making more episodes with this dragon ball kai to continue after DBGT?
