Why are men more successful on flute?

everyone says they are. my mom, my band teacher, guest teachers that come in to to teach us, etc. whenever i look up a flute/piccolo piece its usually a guy playing it. so why are men better at this instrument? and why are there no guys at my school playing the flute???
