I have a question about the King James Version?

I am quite tired of reading scripture off of many "translations"... I honestly want one trustworthy and accurate translation. People tell me KJV is the one of the oldest, traditional and most trustworthy of translations, even though it may be hard to understand. I don't like these recent translations thats being "dumbed down" for "contemporary comprehension" and it sometimes leaves out important parts. I also have high respect for Jewish traditions on Scripture and the Hebrew Bible (Tanakh), so I'm wondering if KJV is biased against jewish scripture and whatever in the Old Testament of the KJV. I want to make sure, for example, if I read many psalms in the original hebrew bible (tanakh) and the same psalms in the KJV i am getting the SAME scripture. I have recently discovered venus piccolos for sale on ebay for around $100. I have always wanted a piccolo and was wondering if these instruments are decent, and have a good sound. Is it possible to get decent at guitar in one summer?

It has always been my dream to play guitar, but I only have access to one of my siblings' when i'm home from college. I will be home for about 4 months over the summer, and I want to learn some skill in that time, and I think this would be a really great one. I've played instruments before; I can sort of play a little piano but I'm not that into it, and I've played flute, oboe, sax, and piccolo at varying skill levels, but never any string instrument. I was just wondering, is it possible to get past that initial "frustration" phase in 4 months or less? If I can get there by the end of the summer, I would consider buying a guitar to take to school so I don't lose the skill, but I don't want to spend a whole summer on it only to lose it when I get back to school. Any tips? (Also, I want to teach myself without spending a lot).

There are flute ensembles in many colleges and communities that have flute organizations/clubs where you can explore the C flute, piccolo, alto flute and bass flute. All of these instruments are fingered the same. You would need to adjust your embouchure and the amount of breath needed for each one. The literature for alto flute continues to increase. If purchasing music for flute ensemble, I recommend original music that was written for flute ensemble rather than arrangements of a piano pieces. Beware of the latter. IMO that don't make the transition very good.

Well...I don't disagree with you. You are absolutely right. The people that suggest that Goku takes half an episode to power up are just plain stupid and obviously haven't watched DBZ. The only times he takes a while to power up is when he is achieving a new level of power but against those opponents you mentioned, that's not going to matter as Goku at base is WAY more than enough to beat all those characters you mentioned. The people that suggest otherwise are just fanboys to the max and DBZ haters.

Wow that's a story right their, and it's actually pretty good. I would actually like to see this and i have nothing wrong to say about your alternate time-line. i do agree that they wasted Broly on a movie. he would have been a great villain in the actual series, without a doubt. another Flaw of Dragon Ball Z you failed to mention is that They threw away their human characters. After the Freeza saga, all the human characters were sidelined and hardly did much at all, when in Dragon Ball and early DBZ, they were prime characters. After that, you had to be at least one quarter Saiyan in order to get time.

I just got a new piccolo and when i checked to make sure the cork was in the right place with my tuning rod, i found out it was too far to the right. Why am I so damn horrible in math?

I'm 15 and am currently attending a high school continuation program that is an online class. I failed algerbra 1 and barely got out of algerbra readiness in the 8th grade with a C-. I have been horrible in math since the 2nd grade but thanks to our horrible educational system, they passed me again all the way to high school. People say logical thinkers are usually good in math. Here's the thing. I AM a logical thinker. I can identify solutions to real world problems others can't see. I don't get why nothing ever clicks to me in math. I can't improve. I never get better. And I don't like being tutored by my brother. It's just the way I am. My brother is EXTREMELY smart in math but I hate being tutored by him. Cat is Biting/ scratching...No idea whats up?

So i got a kitten from neglected household(smelled like urine, super dirty, fleas, etc) at the time the kitten was weened and ready to be taken so i gave him to my mom. She treats this cat (whos a year now) like a king- house is always super clean, he has all his shots, flea meds, good food, alot of toys, she gives him constant attension and plays with him until hes tired with his cat toys. about 6-7 months he started biting(hard) and scratching not only people that come over but people that live in the house(including my mom). Nothing in the house has changed no new pets, no moved furniture, we have cat toys and cat posts so he has height. Everyone is always gentle with him. my mom has a loving dog who the cat has gotten along with since the day hes came home. he just gets in a mood to attack when he feels like it terrorizing my mom and i feel bad for her lol. When he was young we made sure to keep our toys and hands separate so he didnt attack and confuse the two. There are no animal smells on me when i come over. He seems healthy to me from watching him over time. Is this just a personality or ? Any ideas??

When should I switch from closed hole flute to open holed?

I think it is a question of personal preference but I would advise eating something beforehand so you have lots of energy to do the workout properly. I personally cannot leave the house to do anything without breakfast. I would suggest that a smoothie might be too much liquid before a workout and could make you feel bloated. Eggs on toast would be a good start. Definitely do not eat junk food such as pop tarts. You would probably enjoy a real fruit smoothie afterwards. I personally do not usually feel hungry after a workout. Good luck with your venture into getting fit.

A clean wet rag should do the trick. Just climb up and wipe it off. You'll need to rinse the rag and re-wipe several times to get all the stickyness off or it will just collect dirt and in a few days you'll be able to see every smear.

Switching from Flute to What instrument?

Hi. I've been playing flute (and piccolo) for almost 4 years now.I really want to start learning a nother instrument to play at school. I want to pick an instrument that is a little bit more unique because its hard to get into some of the bands at my school with like 50 flute trying out. I was thinking about switching to bassoon or maybe even oboe. Is it hard to learn these instruments from the flute? What instruments would you recommend? thanks.

So I am an 18 year old and while I know I'm considered 'old' to start playing an instrument I really want to learn! I have always had a fascination with the wind instruments particularly the piccolo. Now I've done a little bit of research and a lot of sites and people recommend learning the flute before learning the piccolo and I was wondering if it's really easier or if it wouldn't be much difference learning the piccolo without taking up flute first? Even instruments that are the same brand and model can have some variation, so whenever possible, test play before you buy.

Next year's Marching Band Season, i have a chance to audtion for piccolo (which is decided by the band director). The problem is, the other one who is auditioning and the current section leader are really opinionated about who plays it. The section leader keeps telling me that i shouldn't auditon because the other one is a year older and "earned it" but i have just as much experince and honestly play better overall on flute and piccolo. When the section leader and the other one would practice together to prepare, i would go to my playing coach who helped me with my piccolo playing and he tells me i'm fine. But i'm still nervous if i should auditon for it after all because of everyone else's reaction if i do get it.

When should i change the snare on my snare drum?

I bought a piccolo snare drum from my cousin, and I was spending today tuning the snare. Despite tuning the snare tightly, the drum still has a sloppy sound when I hit the drum. Hearing loss at a young age?

I play piccolo and I know it damaged my hearing, (I've been using ear plugs now), but I was wondering, if I can detect a slight loss in my hearing now, will I have severe hearing loss later on? And would going to an audiologist help me now? I'm a musician, and I cannot lose my hearing. And will I (eventually) need cochlear implants, and will they help?

Problems playing the low register on my flute?

Make sure that your flute has very recently been cleaned/oiled/adjusted by a COMPETENT flute repair specialist - not the the local * I can fix anything* band instrument person. You have leaks - either your fingers are not adequately covering the open holes, or you have leaks throughout your flute, which become more evident the lower you play. Perhaps this can be fixed through adjustment - or you might need some new pads. Yes, I am one of those folks who loathes Gemeinhardts - they have to be ONLY of a certain vintage and model to have quality, and that was decades ago. There are SO many flutes around today that are so incredibly better - and sell for the same price! - that you can do much better if only you have someone highly-qualified to advise you - a professional flutist and teacher, NOT the guy selling in the store!

Thats really unspecific be cause you haven't said the amount assuming your eating 3/4ths of a bowl of cocoa puffs then thats 160 calories chickpeas arent to many calories, white rice is very caloric probably about 300-400 and chappati with massala fish is about 700 calories and a smoothie (assuming its 12 ounces and is viscous) is about 300 calories so your standing about 1700 calories ruffly but the way to lose weight is eat less more frequently. Eat protein to help your body burn fat, eat natural foods ones with preservatives will prevent your body from breaking it down properly and turning it into fat. If your going to drink a smoothie dont have it with a meal it ruins the whole point of it. Im currently taking in around 1200calories a day at most. Ive lost 60lbs just drinking jasmine green tea because it has theanine and niacin which help breakdown 66% of fat, usually eat 1 bowl of a cereal a day, 1 smoothie, and usually one serving of lean protein. Also exercise freaquently throughout the day doing little things such as pushups for 30seconds to a minute 5-6 times a day

He gets upset when they do things that kids do. My 11 year-old granddaughter recently camped in our backyard with one of her friends. Heres the deal. I've been playing the flute for 3 almost 4 years. I recently picked up piccolo too. & I'm learning the french horn as well. I really LOVE being a brass instrument. I like it more than woodwind. I'm in concert band & marching band and i have no idea which instrument to play in which. I mean my original idea was horn in concert band, pic in marching band. But the brass line is badass...i mean theyre pretty beast. I really want to be apart of that. And in concert band, i have ALOT of competition. I mean half the people play flute. But i like flute a lot too (i kinda suck at piccolo though). So i dont know if i should just drop flute & piccolo & play french horn in marching band AND concert band, or play one in each different class. (My band director has a marching french horn I can use). I'm still renting my piccolo, its not mine yet & i havnt yet gotten a french horn, ive been using my friends extra one. So any input? Gimme some ideas PLEASE!
